Justin Pauldo vs Rene Tellez Giron

It’s become dangerous to pick against Giron. He has made a habit of upsetting better-fancied fighters by getting inside, working the body and refusing to give them a comfortable night. His record is misleading, and anyone treating him as an opponent could come unstuck.

Pauldo, though, is a class act when firing on all cylinders. His double jab, accurate right hand and sharp counters should punish Giron’s aggressive entries. The danger is Pauldo becoming too relaxed and allowing Giron to turn it into a close-range scrap. I think he stays disciplined, controls the distance and lands the cleaner work. Pauldo by unanimous decision.
